Jiri Mountain, which was designated as the first national park in 1967, is the largest mountain-type national park with an area of ​​483.022㎢ across three provinces and five cities and counties, including Hadong, Hamyang, and Sancheong in Gyeongnam, Gurye in Jeollanam-do, and Namwon in Jeollabuk-do. Jiri Mountain, which has a circumference of about 320km, has countless peaks spread out like a folding screen centered around Cheonwangbong Peak (1,915m), Banyabong Peak (1,732m), and Nogodan (1,507m), and valleys are located between about 20 ridges. . 
Jiri Mountain, where the East and West, Yeongnam and Honam, with different cultures meet, is a place with a charm that cannot be expressed simply by being big, deep, or wide.Among the three major peaks[, Cheonwangbong (1,915m), the highest and first peak, spans two counties in Gyeongsangnam-do (Sancheong-gun and Hamyang-gun), the second peak, Banyabong (1,732m), is located in Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, and the third peak, Nogodan ( 1,507 m) belongs to Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do.
Additionally, Jiri Mountain belongs to the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range, which starts from Baekdu Mountain in North Korea and continues through Geumgang Mountain, Seorak Mountain, Taebaek Mountain, and Sobaek Mountain to Jiri Mountain.
